Narrative:

I was making a ferry flight from everett, wa, to alaska. I flight planned using aircraft operating book and increased the fuel consumption from the book of 7.6 gph to 9 gph. The 9 gph said that I had 4 hours of range. As I planned 6500 ft altitude, leaned to just rich of peak and a 90 KT airspeed, the time en route was 3 hours 30 mins required and I used 31.5 gals of fuel from a 37 gal useable. I should have had a 1/2 hour reserve. I used over 10 gph and landed off field. I got fuel and flew to the field. No damage, no injuries. I got a battered ego and a good lesson about believing operations manuals.
