Narrative:
Inadvertently placarded an annunciator light with 33-01 MEL, (vcr in use cockpit annunciator light) should have placarded vcr with 23-99B, a parts deviation list reference number and removed the vcr from service.

Title: A LARGE TRANSPORT WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE INCORRECT MEL REF FOR A FAILED VIDEO CASSETTE RECORDER.
Narrative: INADVERTENTLY PLACARDED AN ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT WITH 33-01 MEL, (VCR IN USE COCKPIT ANNUNCIATOR LIGHT) SHOULD HAVE PLACARDED VCR WITH 23-99B, A PARTS DEV LIST REF NUMBER AND REMOVED THE VCR FROM SVC.
