Narrative:

On apr/mon/03 at approximately XA30, I was asked to buy back the installation of the APU on aircraft X. I was given work card 49-96-82 to work from which was in the bill of work. After the mechanics and I completed our signatures, the aircraft was sent to the gate. At approximately XA30, a fellow inspector told me the APU was removed and replaced in the logbook without an rii circled or signed. I was not aware there was a logbook item at the time of inspection. The aircraft left without the rii signature and without an aircraft release on the logbook page.
