Narrative:

Level at FL180. The civet 4 arrival was programmed into the FMS. Just prior to civet, socal approach reclred us to lax via the mitts one arrival and to descend via the mitts one. We accepted the clearance. The first officer reprogrammed the FMS as I looked in my charts for the procedure. Quickly realized the mitts arrival had the same crossing restr (cross between 17000 ft and 14000 ft) as the civet 4 arrival. Started an immediate descent, but crossed civet intersection at 17800 ft, not between 17000 ft and 14000 ft. I feel we were given the new clearance late. I was not familiar with the newly cleared arrival, which caused me to miss the altitude restr.

Title: A320 CREW DID NOT COMPLY WITH STAR ALT RESTR, WHEN STAR WAS CHANGED AT THE LAST MIN.

Narrative: LEVEL AT FL180. THE CIVET 4 ARR WAS PROGRAMMED INTO THE FMS. JUST PRIOR TO CIVET, SOCAL APCH RECLRED US TO LAX VIA THE MITTS ONE ARR AND TO DSND VIA THE MITTS ONE. WE ACCEPTED THE CLRNC. THE FO REPROGRAMMED THE FMS AS I LOOKED IN MY CHARTS FOR THE PROC. QUICKLY REALIZED THE MITTS ARR HAD THE SAME XING RESTR (CROSS BTWN 17000 FT AND 14000 FT) AS THE CIVET 4 ARR. STARTED AN IMMEDIATE DSCNT, BUT CROSSED CIVET INTXN AT 17800 FT, NOT BTWN 17000 FT AND 14000 FT. I FEEL WE WERE GIVEN THE NEW CLRNC LATE. I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE NEWLY CLRED ARR, WHICH CAUSED ME TO MISS THE ALT RESTR.
