Narrative:

Was given clearance for visual approach to runway 24R at ryn. Contacted controller (tower) 9 mi northwest of ryn. Told to report right midfield downwind. Disruption in aircraft with passenger (6 month old unhappy baby), and forgot downwind call to tower. Assumed cleared to land. No other traffic on/for airport. No other controller communications. Visibility 725 mi. Cleared runway 24R. Called controller at that time, who cleared me to land runway 24L. Explained I had already landed. He informed me that I had no landing clearance. I apologized. Obvious pilot error with distraction factor. More alert controller, having no other workload, would have tracked us visually and caught the omission.
