Narrative:

VFR flight from pne to lci. Received FSS briefing prior to departure. Reviewed WX and ADIZ for ny. The plan was to navigate from pne, staying west of sbj, west of bwz and direct to lci. Upon reaching 13500 ft and receiving flight following from ny approach, I was told that we had penetrated the ADIZ. The GPS aboard showed us to be 33 miles southwest of ewr. We turned 30 degrees left for 5 to 10 miles and was told to return to own navigation on course. Lesson learned -- either our new GPS was in error or ny's equipment. Pilot should have prepared for a larger margin of error by navigating further west.
