Narrative:

Captain has flight attendants prepare for landing at FL180. Flight attendants did final safety checks and I was about to return to my jump seat at 4L when, in middle of zone C r-hand side, we hit turbulence. It was calm before, then we felt a vacuum-like pull down. I braced and hit hard breaking my left foot in 6 places, 7 of 8 flight attendants hurt. I feel I could have had less impact if I had just sat immediately on floor but no prior bumps had me fooled that this was nothing. Stay low -- my advice.
