Narrative:

I was the first officer on a B767-200. We taxied to runway 9L at XA50 at an area called the pad (by ATC). We held short so other aft could taxi to runway 12. Sometime later, ATC instructed us to taxi up to and hold short of runway 9L. At that time, the captain began to taxi. Instead of stopping at the hold short line, he taxied beyond the line. Tower told us to stop there (still 300 ft from runway). After 1 landing, we departed.
