Narrative:

We encountered radio problems during descent on both VHF radios. Reception was intermittent to none. We were assigned to cross gilro intersection at 8000 ft. Within gilro, we were unable to raise anybody on any frequency. We squawked 7600 and transmitted our intention to fly the ILS runway 30L approach. We then descended via the approach. At 5000 ft, we were able to receive the tower and explained our situation. The rest of the approach and landing were uneventful. The radio problems continued until reaching the gate.
