Narrative:

Feb/xx/03 flight departing roa at night. Climbing right heading 235 degrees, cleared to 7000 ft. Advised by departure of traffic at 8000 ft at 2 O'clock position. Called them in sight, then given climb to 10000 ft. Other traffic was told we had them in sight, they called us in sight and were cleared to 6000 ft and maintain visual separation, as we were. Then we were cleared direct odf. We were climbing 250 KTS and 3500 FPM. We received a quick TA, then RA within 2 or 3 seconds. We took evasive action as did the other aircraft. Informed departure control. They said they would look into it.
