Narrative:

On work shift that started on jan/mon/03, I was replacing a B767 override boost pump that was needing replacement per air carrier engineering order on an air carrier aircraft. The part was preordered by lead mechanic and supply personnel. When replacing pump, I checked sn and replaced part per manual. On jan/thu/03, I was informed that the part I installed was not compliant with that aircraft, because of another engineering order that was not completed on the aircraft. The aircraft was stopped at its current location to have pump replaced. I thought this part was for this aircraft per engineering order I was given.
