Narrative:

Level at 13000 ft on west heading set up on right base for runway 35L denver, first received TA soon turned into a RA, started descent to clear traffic that turned out to be a lear rapidly climbing eastbound. We were given a right approximately 30 degree turn that we did not do, as that would have pointed us directly at the traffic. At this time, advised ATC we were following an RA, lear passed approximately 400 ft below and approximately 2 mi north. Queried controller, and he said the lear was being vectored by another controller. He also said the rapid climb rate of the lear most likely activated our TCASII, and he had seen RA's before in similar sits.

Title: B767 CREW ON EXTENDED R BASE AT 13000 FT FOR RWY 35L AT DEN ARPT ENCOUNTERED A LEARJET OPPOSITE DIRECTION CLBING EBOUND RESULTING IN A CONFLICT.

Narrative: LEVEL AT 13000 FT ON W HDG SET UP ON R BASE FOR RWY 35L DENVER, FIRST RECEIVED TA SOON TURNED INTO A RA, STARTED DSCNT TO CLR TFC THAT TURNED OUT TO BE A LEAR RAPIDLY CLBING EBOUND. WE WERE GIVEN A R APPROX 30 DEG TURN THAT WE DID NOT DO, AS THAT WOULD HAVE POINTED US DIRECTLY AT THE TFC. AT THIS TIME, ADVISED ATC WE WERE FOLLOWING AN RA, LEAR PASSED APPROX 400 FT BELOW AND APPROX 2 MI N. QUERIED CTLR, AND HE SAID THE LEAR WAS BEING VECTORED BY ANOTHER CTLR. HE ALSO SAID THE RAPID CLB RATE OF THE LEAR MOST LIKELY ACTIVATED OUR TCASII, AND HE HAD SEEN RA'S BEFORE IN SIMILAR SITS.
