Narrative:
At intermediate cruise altitude of FL240, received RA warning. Intruding aircraft descending from 2 O'clock relative position within 5 mi. TCASII directed about a 1000-1200 FPM descent. Intruding aircraft passed overhead 800-1000 ft. Did not see intruding aircraft. Reported this to center. He replied that the intruding aircraft was not in his sector.
