Narrative:

Inbound direct bordo intersection in cuban airspace, we couldn't establish the frequency for mia center to provide the prior notice, self handoff, of approximately 10 min prior till we noticed the text of 'ball note a' on the chart. There is no 'ball note a' on UB760 on the airway depiction and this is the closest we got to establishing the correct procedure to initiate self handoff to mia center. Miami center didn't have our flight information. Initial contact with no prior notice. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter requested map legend application uniformity between commercial and government charting.
