Narrative:

Altitude deviation. We were cleared to descend via korry 2 arrival. We did not understand that we were cleared to descend. The controller questioned if we were going to make rbv at 10000 ft. We asked for a heading and altitude. The controller switched us to next frequency. We checked in and controller made no mention of anything. Supplemental information from acn 567837: ATC cleared us to lga via the korry 2 arrival. He may have cleared to descend via the korry 2 arrival but I did not hear that. Shortly thereafter, he asked us if we were going to make the altitude restrs. We then realized we should be descending. We were at or above all altitudes except we were still about 15000 ft at korry when we should have been at 10000 ft.

Title: MD80 CREW AND THE RADAR CTLR HAD A CLRNC MISUNDERSTANDING ON THE KORRY 2 STAR INTO LGA, IN ZNY CLASS E AIRSPACE.

Narrative: ALTDEV. WE WERE CLRED TO DSND VIA KORRY 2 ARR. WE DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT WE WERE CLRED TO DSND. THE CTLR QUESTIONED IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE RBV AT 10000 FT. WE ASKED FOR A HDG AND ALT. THE CTLR SWITCHED US TO NEXT FREQ. WE CHKED IN AND CTLR MADE NO MENTION OF ANYTHING. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 567837: ATC CLRED US TO LGA VIA THE KORRY 2 ARR. HE MAY HAVE CLRED TO DSND VIA THE KORRY 2 ARR BUT I DID NOT HEAR THAT. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, HE ASKED US IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE THE ALT RESTRS. WE THEN REALIZED WE SHOULD BE DSNDING. WE WERE AT OR ABOVE ALL ALTS EXCEPT WE WERE STILL ABOUT 15000 FT AT KORRY WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 10000 FT.
