Narrative:
Eco SO600, which is the modification to change landing gear to new type, had an inspection (rii) requirement on the functional test of the landing gear. The inspection was deleted between the 'ax' and 'bx' revision and became a mechanic's signoff only. Aircraft was recalled in ZZZ1 for gear retraction when found that the rii was not signed for.

Title: A FOKKER 100 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH NEW LNDG GEAR INSTALLED BUT RELEASED FOR SVC WITHOUT THE FAA REQUIRED INSPECTION.
Narrative: ECO SO600, WHICH IS THE MODIFICATION TO CHANGE LNDG GEAR TO NEW TYPE, HAD AN INSPECTION (RII) REQUIREMENT ON THE FUNCTIONAL TEST OF THE LNDG GEAR. THE INSPECTION WAS DELETED BTWN THE 'AX' AND 'BX' REVISION AND BECAME A MECH'S SIGNOFF ONLY. ACFT WAS RECALLED IN ZZZ1 FOR GEAR RETRACTION WHEN FOUND THAT THE RII WAS NOT SIGNED FOR.
