Narrative:

We were called by flight attendant prior to pushback that she could not get the armed door light to illuminate at door 3R. We told the mechanic who said that he would check to outside of the door, and to open and close the door to attempt to arm. The flight attendant reported that the light would not press to test and that she did have an armed flag on the door. This was relayed to the mechanic. The mechanic indicated that the door was armed and that we should write it up en route to ZZZ when we arrived at ZZZ. The mechanics advised that the door was missing a part and was not actually armed during our flight to ZZZ. The door was repaired in ZZZ.
