Narrative:

While cruising at FL230 with autoplt engaged, and in navigation mode, aircraft started an uncommanded turn to left approximately 15-20 degrees. When the first officer touched the yoke, the aircraft snapped back to the right to approximately 15 degrees right. Roll rate was very rapid. 2 flight attendants were injured when they hit their heads on the overhead baggage bin. Approach was flown into ord with autoplt off. Maintenance was notified by phone on the gate at ord. Voice recorder circuit breaker was pulled in case it was needed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that on arrival at ord, the crew was assigned another airplane so he had limited time to write up a report. The reporter said the maintenance action taken is unknown, as maintenance had forwarded no report to the crew.

CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT ON ARR AT ORD, THE CREW WAS ASSIGNED ANOTHER AIRPLANE SO HE HAD LIMITED TIME TO WRITE UP A RPT. THE RPTR SAID THE MAINT ACTION TAKEN IS UNKNOWN, AS MAINT HAD FORWARDED NO RPT TO THE CREW.
