Narrative:

Location: sjc 047 degree radial, 4 DME. On the loupe 9 at 5000 ft, heading 120 degrees, ATC called traffic at 10 O'clock position, restr 500 ft above. At 2 mi, we got a TA, rapidly followed by an RA. We descended to 4600 ft and called departure. Our altitude was at 5000 ft with 29.91. We kept the traffic in sight during the maneuver. I estimated horizontal separation at less than 1 mi. Vertical separation less than 500 ft.
