FL290 cpcu (pressurization controller) #2 fault (#1 on MEL) cabin pressurization +/-2000 ft. Started down, told ATC we were going to descend. Approximately FL250, started to get some control of cabin. Followed ECAM. Selected manual. Cabin started +/-2000 FPM with power and altitude stabilized. Started descent to 10000 ft. Better control at lower altitude. Unable to control cabin at higher altitude. Diverted to clt.
