Narrative:
We were en route to san from bur. We were being vectored between 2 airways. They gave us a climb and heading. I repeated the climb to 11000 ft and heading 110 degrees. Nothing was said back from ATC, so we proceeded on 110 degree heading for 5 mins. Then approach calls and asks where we were going? We stated on 110 degree vector. They say negative, then gave us 210 degrees. Somewhere there was a miscom.

Title: AN ASTRA CREW, ENRTE FROM BUR TO SAN, RECEIVED, READ BACK, AND RESPONDED TO A CLRNC ATC PROFESSES WAS MISINTERPRETED.
Narrative: WE WERE ENRTE TO SAN FROM BUR. WE WERE BEING VECTORED BTWN 2 AIRWAYS. THEY GAVE US A CLB AND HEADING. I REPEATED THE CLB TO 11000 FT AND HEADING 110 DEGS. NOTHING WAS SAID BACK FROM ATC, SO WE PROCEEDED ON 110 DEG HDG FOR 5 MINS. THEN APCH CALLS AND ASKS WHERE WE WERE GOING? WE STATED ON 110 DEG VECTOR. THEY SAY NEGATIVE, THEN GAVE US 210 DEGS.
