Narrative:

Departing hef en route to lns, I attempted to receive VFR radar advisories, following the exact route that I had flown 30 mins earlier VFR with radar advisories from lns to hef. This route was within a charted 'VFR corridor,' from the surface to 3000 ft MSL, beneath the washington class B airspace. Hef tower approved an eastbound turn upon departure and a frequency change to dulles approach. Upon contact with dulles approach, I was refused radar service and advised to remain clear of the washington class B airspace. Upon entering the VFR corridor, I naved northbound as far west as is possible within the corridor. Upon landing at lns, I was informed the VFR corridor is no longer used because a portion of it falls within the washington tfr. Due to the fact that on numerous occasions I have been vectored while VFR by approach (including that same day) into this VFR corridor, I assumed that there was a cutout to allow for VFR traffic beneath the class B. Apparently, VFR flts are allowed into this airspace only while receiving radar advisories. This is not published. If this airspace is vital to national security, then all VFR should be kept out, whether or not radar advisories are being utilized. Otherwise, confusion and violations are bound to occur.

Title: VFR MOONEY M20 PLT IS TAKEN TO TASK FOR USING THE VFR FLYWAY NEAR DCA WHEN NOT ON RADAR ADVISORIES FROM APCH CTLR AT IAD, VA.

Narrative: DEPARTING HEF ENRTE TO LNS, I ATTEMPTED TO RECEIVE VFR RADAR ADVISORIES, FOLLOWING THE EXACT RTE THAT I HAD FLOWN 30 MINS EARLIER VFR WITH RADAR ADVISORIES FROM LNS TO HEF. THIS RTE WAS WITHIN A CHARTED 'VFR CORRIDOR,' FROM THE SURFACE TO 3000 FT MSL, BENEATH THE WASHINGTON CLASS B AIRSPACE. HEF TWR APPROVED AN EBOUND TURN UPON DEP AND A FREQ CHANGE TO DULLES APCH. UPON CONTACT WITH DULLES APCH, I WAS REFUSED RADAR SVC AND ADVISED TO REMAIN CLR OF THE WASHINGTON CLASS B AIRSPACE. UPON ENTERING THE VFR CORRIDOR, I NAVED NBOUND AS FAR W AS IS POSSIBLE WITHIN THE CORRIDOR. UPON LNDG AT LNS, I WAS INFORMED THE VFR CORRIDOR IS NO LONGER USED BECAUSE A PORTION OF IT FALLS WITHIN THE WASHINGTON TFR. DUE TO THE FACT THAT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN VECTORED WHILE VFR BY APCH (INCLUDING THAT SAME DAY) INTO THIS VFR CORRIDOR, I ASSUMED THAT THERE WAS A CUTOUT TO ALLOW FOR VFR TFC BENEATH THE CLASS B.
