Narrative:

After landing runway 27R, left turn on runway 22R leads to conflict. Taxi after landing runway 27R, ord tower told us landing traffic runway 22R would hold short our runway. We missed the high speed at taxiway C and the captain turned left onto runway 22R to exit runway 27R. While in our turn, tower told us to not turn off onto runway 22R but was late to make this transmission as we were already turning onto runway 22R to exit. At this time they told aircraft on final to go around. We were on runway 22R for a short period of time and were under the impression the traffic were to hold short of our runway 27R. We were told to contact the supervisor once we got to the gate. The captain felt if the tolerances were so short on this conflict it would have been best if the tower had made an earlier transmission once we passed the high speed and that in the future he would not turn off onto that runway unless permission can be verified.
