Narrative:

After normal push and taxi, we were cleared for takeoff runway 28R at columbus. Clearance was read back and pretkof checklist completed. Rolling into position, captain noted vehicle traffic approximately 5000 ft down runway. We proceeded to ask tower about the clearance reference the vehicle. Tower canceled takeoff clearance and asked vehicle to clear. After the truck cleared the runway, we were reclred for takeoff. Balance of the flight was normal. Supplemental information from acn 551474: we were cleared for takeoff on runway 28R. I noticed an airport operations truck was on the runway. I said to the tower that it looked like there was someone on the runway. He then canceled takeoff clearance. I don't know why the truck was on the runway.
