Narrative:
Working as a mechanic for air carrier X, I was working gate X at ZZZ on may/wed/02. Aircraft #XXXX was on the gate for a departure to ZZZ1 at XD05. At or about XA45, FAA inspector informed me that there were 3 small dents on the horizontal stabilizers. I pulled up the aircraft's history, found no prior paperwork for proper dent inspection parameters. The damage table shows that dents with a depth of .030 inches are allowable. Page 109 places this tolerance into zone I, which states, 'no periodic inspection is required.' this is how I signed off 3 each write-ups that I had against the aircraft. No action is required, as these dents are (were) within limits and no periodic inspections are required. These logs I signed off with the full knowledge, and approval of my maintenance supervisor.
