Narrative:

I was coming into apa and was just south of aurora reservoir. Called apa tower, thought they said 'cleared to land runway 28, report at parker road.' this seemed odd, but the radio broke up a little so I figured I would confirm at the reporting point of parker road. During descent, I had an near midair collision and came within 150 ft of a C172 who had taken off on runway 10. Both parties made hard right turns to the right to avoid collision. My bank angle was about 50 degrees. Amidst confusion, I forgot to make reporting point at parker road and landed without incident. Upon arrival, however, tower gave me a phone number to call and said they had never cleared me to land. Since no adverse results occurred as a result of my deviation, no enforcement action was taken. Obviously, better traffic information by controller would have helped and I should have asked for clearance confirmation upon initial contact.

Title: BE23 PLT AND A C172 HAD AN NMAC IN APA CLASS D AIRSPACE.

Narrative: I WAS COMING INTO APA AND WAS JUST S OF AURORA RESERVOIR. CALLED APA TWR, THOUGHT THEY SAID 'CLRED TO LAND RWY 28, RPT AT PARKER ROAD.' THIS SEEMED ODD, BUT THE RADIO BROKE UP A LITTLE SO I FIGURED I WOULD CONFIRM AT THE RPTING POINT OF PARKER ROAD. DURING DSCNT, I HAD AN NMAC AND CAME WITHIN 150 FT OF A C172 WHO HAD TAKEN OFF ON RWY 10. BOTH PARTIES MADE HARD R TURNS TO THE R TO AVOID COLLISION. MY BANK ANGLE WAS ABOUT 50 DEGS. AMIDST CONFUSION, I FORGOT TO MAKE RPTING POINT AT PARKER ROAD AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. UPON ARR, HOWEVER, TWR GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL AND SAID THEY HAD NEVER CLRED ME TO LAND. SINCE NO ADVERSE RESULTS OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF MY DEV, NO ENFORCEMENT ACTION WAS TAKEN. OBVIOUSLY, BETTER TFC INFO BY CTLR WOULD HAVE HELPED AND I SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR CLRNC CONFIRMATION UPON INITIAL CONTACT.
