Narrative:

On arrival to bur near toaks intersection, level at 9000 ft, received RA and aural warning 'monitor vertical speed.' other aircraft was working socal approach, as we were, we each received TA's and had visual contact. Time was about XA00. Departed vny airport. Later that day, was climbing out of 5700 ft MSL for ATC assigned altitude of 6000 ft MSL. Received 'reduce climb' RA. Traffic passed behind us. Were given advisories and other aircraft was with socal approach. Location of this RA was lax 320 degree radial at 17 DME. Lax airspace is very crowded. These 2 resolutions occurred near the same geographical location. This is what got my attention. I have heard in the past of several midairs just west of smo and south of lgb. I'm reporting this in case there is a trend in RA's near this area. Both occurred in class east airspace.
