Narrative:

On departure from ont en route to dfw, on PRADO6 departure, socal issued climb to 16000 ft. Nearing turn to trm, TCASII TA sounded for traffic above at 1200 ft and to left. Delayed turn, clicked off autoplt and descended as RA alerted conflict and directed descent. Once visual contact made and vertical separation confirmed, we completed the turn to east and rejoined departure. Conflict aircraft was a 'jump service.' supplemental information from acn 544937: the first officer (PF) disconnected the autoplt, which automatically deselects VNAV and LNAV, at approximately 13500 ft and commenced a descent to 13000 ft. Socal was notified of our action. A visual sighting was made of the conflict aircraft, was a plane carrying parachute jumpers maneuvering 1000 ft above and 1 mi away.
