Aircraft came in with PIREP for thrust message on MFDU, after meeting aircraft. Called routing. Was told that system had been deactivated and to just placard it again. Called ZZZ and explained situation. Was given placard authority/authorized and made false assumption that maintenance procedures manual would not be required.

Title: A FOKKER 100 WITH A PIREP OF A THRUST REVERSER PREVIOUSLY DEACTIVATED BUT WAS NOT PROPERLY PLACARDED. PLACARD REQUIRED MAINT PROCS MANUAL NOT ACCOMPLISHED BY RPTR.

Narrative: ACFT CAME IN WITH PIREP FOR THRUST MESSAGE ON MFDU, AFTER MEETING ACFT. CALLED ROUTING. WAS TOLD THAT SYS HAD BEEN DEACTIVATED AND TO JUST PLACARD IT AGAIN. CALLED ZZZ AND EXPLAINED SIT. WAS GIVEN PLACARD AUTH AND MADE FALSE ASSUMPTION THAT MAINT PROCS MANUAL WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED.
