Narrative:

On an IFR flight plan from pvd to owd in a cessna citation in VMC, I was cleared for a visual approach to runway 17 at norwood airport. I requested a left downwind to runway 17. I received clearance to land on runway 17 with a left downwind. After positioning the aircraft on a left downwind, the ATC controller insisted I was on a right downwind. Indeed, I was on left downwind, executing the approach exactly as cleared. The controller chastised me again for being in the wrong position. I submit norwood airport is unsafe and without total supervision.
