Narrative:

Flying to den, we were assigned to climb to FL280 while on a radar vector, for traffic, by ZME. Very busy ATC sector. At FL277 we got a TA. At leveloff at FL280, we got an RA commanding a descent. We descended to FL277 and RA stopped. We climbed back to FL280 and told ZME of our RA. Another airline, aircraft Y, also said they had an RA and climbed to comply with the RA. The ZME controller said vertical separation was never compromised. I will take the controller's word for it, but he was overworked and task saturated.
