Narrative:
Fuel truck arrived early, so pulled aircraft from hangar to ramp for fueling. Did preflight on ramp -- poorly lighted. Looked at but did not see that mechanic had removed a gear door linkage for repair -- someone else on ramp let me know that the door was flapping as I taxied out. Returned and canceled flight.

Narrative: FUEL TRUCK ARRIVED EARLY, SO PULLED ACFT FROM HANGAR TO RAMP FOR FUELING. DID PREFLT ON RAMP -- POORLY LIGHTED. LOOKED AT BUT DID NOT SEE THAT MECH HAD REMOVED A GEAR DOOR LINKAGE FOR REPAIR -- SOMEONE ELSE ON RAMP LET ME KNOW THAT THE DOOR WAS FLAPPING AS I TAXIED OUT. RETURNED AND CANCELED FLT.
