Narrative:

Flight departed ZZZ en route to ZZZ1. Operations normal. After landing at ZZZ1 ramp notified crew that a rear stairs deplane and passenger search was going to occur as a result of a security breach at ZZZ. Cast of thousands present at the gate. No communication with ground personnel. No guidance from manager, ramp, air carrier security or airport security. Captain left totally in the dark. Totally unacceptable situation. Everyone else in the company knew except for the captain directly in charge of aircraft security. I am incensed. The individual responsible should be terminated. If any in-flight event had occurred, I would have been without the knowledge or ability to control the situation. I would not have known whether to land as soon as possible at an intervening location, to get passenger involved or to return to ZZZ. Again, this is unacceptable behavior by air carrier security. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that he has discussed this matter with all responsible company personnel, together with members of another airline to which they had recently merged and believe that there will not be a problem in the future. Reporter advised that his company dispatcher passed on the instructions for the security check to the merging company dispatcher who did not know the flight crew had not been notified about the special security check. Based on company knowledge and efforts to correct this problem in the future, he is confident that this problem will not happen again.

Title: MD SUPER 80 CAPT COMPLAINT ABOUT NOT BEING INFORMED OF SPECIAL SECURITY CHK DURING DEPLANING AT DEST. RPTR FELT IF SOMETHING HAPPENED IN FLT, HE WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT COURSE OF ACTION TO TAKE.

Narrative: FLT DEPARTED ZZZ ENRTE TO ZZZ1. OPS NORMAL. AFTER LNDG AT ZZZ1 RAMP NOTIFIED CREW THAT A REAR STAIRS DEPLANE AND PAX SEARCH WAS GOING TO OCCUR AS A RESULT OF A SECURITY BREACH AT ZZZ. CAST OF THOUSANDS PRESENT AT THE GATE. NO COMMUNICATION WITH GND PERSONNEL. NO GUIDANCE FROM MGR, RAMP, ACR SECURITY OR ARPT SECURITY. CAPT LEFT TOTALLY IN THE DARK. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE SIT. EVERYONE ELSE IN THE COMPANY KNEW EXCEPT FOR THE CAPT DIRECTLY IN CHARGE OF ACFT SECURITY. I AM INCENSED. THE INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE SHOULD BE TERMINATED. IF ANY INFLT EVENT HAD OCCURRED, I WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITY TO CTL THE SIT. I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN WHETHER TO LAND ASAP AT AN INTERVENING LOCATION, TO GET PAX INVOLVED OR TO RETURN TO ZZZ. AGAIN, THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR BY ACR SECURITY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THAT HE HAS DISCUSSED THIS MATTER WITH ALL RESPONSIBLE COMPANY PERSONNEL, TOGETHER WITH MEMBERS OF ANOTHER AIRLINE TO WHICH THEY HAD RECENTLY MERGED AND BELIEVE THAT THERE WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE. RPTR ADVISED THAT HIS COMPANY DISPATCHER PASSED ON THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SECURITY CHK TO THE MERGING COMPANY DISPATCHER WHO DID NOT KNOW THE FLC HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THE SPECIAL SECURITY CHK. BASED ON COMPANY KNOWLEDGE AND EFFORTS TO CORRECT THIS PROB IN THE FUTURE, HE IS CONFIDENT THAT THIS PROB WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.
