Narrative:

I was asked to taxi to runway 9 from the east side. X runway 12/30 taxiway C to taxiway B to runway 9. Wind at time was 12 KTS gusting 18 KTS, light rain. Heavy rain just ended, front went through. Standing water on txwys in numerous places. As I approached taxiway B from taxiway C a sudden wind gust pushed the plane sideways on top of the standing water and off the pavement into the dirt of the closed taxiway with the nosewheel 5-6 ft off the asphalt. Because of all the rain the dirt was like quick sand and the nose gear sank and the propeller hit the ground, causing damage to the propeller. When the wind gust hit the airplane at a 90 degree angle I stepped on the brakes and used beta to no avail. This was completely unexpected and the airplane traveled 30-40 ft sideways in 2-3 seconds into the sand. I immediately shut down the engine but the damage to the propeller had already occurred.

Title: TXWY EXCURSION AND ACFT DAMAGED WHEN A WIND GUST BLEW A TAXIING C208B OFF THE TXWY AT IPT, PA.

Narrative: I WAS ASKED TO TAXI TO RWY 9 FROM THE E SIDE. X RWY 12/30 TXWY C TO TXWY B TO RWY 9. WIND AT TIME WAS 12 KTS GUSTING 18 KTS, LIGHT RAIN. HVY RAIN JUST ENDED, FRONT WENT THROUGH. STANDING WATER ON TXWYS IN NUMEROUS PLACES. AS I APCHED TXWY B FROM TXWY C A SUDDEN WIND GUST PUSHED THE PLANE SIDEWAYS ON TOP OF THE STANDING WATER AND OFF THE PAVEMENT INTO THE DIRT OF THE CLOSED TXWY WITH THE NOSEWHEEL 5-6 FT OFF THE ASPHALT. BECAUSE OF ALL THE RAIN THE DIRT WAS LIKE QUICK SAND AND THE NOSE GEAR SANK AND THE PROP HIT THE GND, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE PROP. WHEN THE WIND GUST HIT THE AIRPLANE AT A 90 DEG ANGLE I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND USED BETA TO NO AVAIL. THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED AND THE AIRPLANE TRAVELED 30-40 FT SIDEWAYS IN 2-3 SECONDS INTO THE SAND. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN THE ENG BUT THE DAMAGE TO THE PROP HAD ALREADY OCCURRED.
