Narrative:

The incident occurred while taxiing into the ramp area at ZZZ, first officer, military base. We were following a 'follow me' truck when the left wingtip came in contact with a light pole. There was a wing walker watching the right wing to keep us clear of a parked airplane, but no wing walker on the left wing. The airplane had only minor damage, but resulted in a significant delay. Neither wingtip is visible from the flight deck of the L1011. Wing walkers on both wings could have prevented this incident.
