Narrative:

Departing pwk on pwk 2 SID, we made an immediate right turn within the field boundary while climbing to 2000 ft. Turn was initiated just after crossing departure end of runway 16 after obtaining a safe altitude. Flaps were maintained at takeoff setting and speed was maintained at 170 KTS to decrease radius of turn. Initial turn was approximately 40 degrees angle of bank and shallowed to no less than 30 degrees angle of bank when passing a northwest heading. Passing 350 degree heading, speed accelerated to 200 KTS. Upon checking in with departure, we were informed we were not in compliance with the SID. We were given no reason as to why. We assume it was in relation to the ord 345 degree radial. A turn any tighter or slower would have been unsafe. Staggering pwk departures with ord runway 14 arrs would allow more room for a safer turn without conflicting with ord runway 14 approachs.

Title: AN MLG CREW, DEPARTING PWR, EXCEEDED THE SID'S TURN RADIUS RESTR.

Narrative: DEPARTING PWK ON PWK 2 SID, WE MADE AN IMMEDIATE R TURN WITHIN THE FIELD BOUNDARY WHILE CLBING TO 2000 FT. TURN WAS INITIATED JUST AFTER XING DEP END OF RWY 16 AFTER OBTAINING A SAFE ALT. FLAPS WERE MAINTAINED AT TKOF SETTING AND SPD WAS MAINTAINED AT 170 KTS TO DECREASE RADIUS OF TURN. INITIAL TURN WAS APPROX 40 DEGS ANGLE OF BANK AND SHALLOWED TO NO LESS THAN 30 DEGS ANGLE OF BANK WHEN PASSING A NW HDG. PASSING 350 DEG HDG, SPD ACCELERATED TO 200 KTS. UPON CHKING IN WITH DEP, WE WERE INFORMED WE WERE NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE SID. WE WERE GIVEN NO REASON AS TO WHY. WE ASSUME IT WAS IN RELATION TO THE ORD 345 DEG RADIAL. A TURN ANY TIGHTER OR SLOWER WOULD HAVE BEEN UNSAFE. STAGGERING PWK DEPS WITH ORD RWY 14 ARRS WOULD ALLOW MORE ROOM FOR A SAFER TURN WITHOUT CONFLICTING WITH ORD RWY 14 APCHS.
