Narrative:

Improper aircraft confign. I have a pilot check (proficiency) coming up and we were discussing the rejected takeoff/automatic brake system. During this discussion the automatic brake switch was moved from the 'off' position to the '-3' position during the discussion. Landed in this confign. No light noted above rejected takeoff/automatic brake switch. Automatic brakes do work. When discussing a system never, ever, touch the switch!

Title: ACFT CONFIGN SURPRISE FOR A B737-700 FLC WHEN THE ACFT IS LANDED WITH THE AUTO BRAKES UNKNOWINGLY SELECTED TO THE #3 POS PRIOR TO LNDG AT MDW, IL.

Narrative: IMPROPER ACFT CONFIGN. I HAVE A PLT CHK (PROFICIENCY) COMING UP AND WE WERE DISCUSSING THE RTO/AUTO BRAKE SYS. DURING THIS DISCUSSION THE AUTO BRAKE SWITCH WAS MOVED FROM THE 'OFF' POS TO THE '-3' POS DURING THE DISCUSSION. LANDED IN THIS CONFIGN. NO LIGHT NOTED ABOVE RTO/AUTO BRAKE SWITCH. AUTO BRAKES DO WORK. WHEN DISCUSSING A SYS NEVER, EVER, TOUCH THE SWITCH!
