Narrative:
Aircraft Y (MD80) was eastbound (den arrival) at FL350 (wrong altitude for direction of flight). The altitude was requested due to traffic, his original altitude was FL370. Aft X (A320) was nebound at FL330. I thought aircraft X was the reason aircraft Y was descended to FL350. I thought aircraft X was at FL370. I held wbound traffic at FL350 for aircraft Y and descended aircraft Y to FL330, thinking aircraft X was at FL370. (I never talked to aircraft X.) I saw my mistake and told aircraft Y to maintain FL350, however, separation was lost.
