Narrative:

Approximately 20-30 mins into the flight, the captain informed the flight attendants that there was a hydraulic problem and we would be returning for repairs. No evacuate/evacuation was deemed necessary. Flight attendant #6 asked me to confer with her about a 'whinnying sound' coming from the left wing. In my estimation, the flaps were retracted, but the controls continued to run. This was not occurring on the right wing. We called the captain and he said it was consistent with what the cockpit instruments were indicating. We prepared for landing. Approach and landing all appeared to be normal. Total flight time was 1 hour 55 mins. Repairs were made and we took our same aircraft to sfo about 1 hour later, with no incidence.

Title: A B767-200ER CABIN ATTENDANT RPTS OF DIVERSION DUE TO A FLAP MECHANICAL PROB AND A WHINNYING SOUND IN THE L WING. CAUSE UNKNOWN.

Narrative: APPROX 20-30 MINS INTO THE FLT, THE CAPT INFORMED THE FLT ATTENDANTS THAT THERE WAS A HYD PROB AND WE WOULD BE RETURNING FOR REPAIRS. NO EVAC WAS DEEMED NECESSARY. FLT ATTENDANT #6 ASKED ME TO CONFER WITH HER ABOUT A 'WHINNYING SOUND' COMING FROM THE L WING. IN MY ESTIMATION, THE FLAPS WERE RETRACTED, BUT THE CTLS CONTINUED TO RUN. THIS WAS NOT OCCURRING ON THE R WING. WE CALLED THE CAPT AND HE SAID IT WAS CONSISTENT WITH WHAT THE COCKPIT INSTS WERE INDICATING. WE PREPARED FOR LNDG. APCH AND LNDG ALL APPEARED TO BE NORMAL. TOTAL FLT TIME WAS 1 HR 55 MINS. REPAIRS WERE MADE AND WE TOOK OUR SAME ACFT TO SFO ABOUT 1 HR LATER, WITH NO INCIDENCE.
