Narrative:

Leveling at 13000 ft, we received low oil pressure warning indications for the left engine. At the same time, ATC tried to climb us to 17000 ft. Missed call discussing situation and running checklist. Second occurrence of the warning engine was brought to idle, ATC told to stand by due to problem on board. After noting all engine indications within normal limits at idle, maintenance was contacted and informed of the situation. A return was advised and we relayed situation to ATC. We told them that we were going to be landing with an engine at idle. The situation was treated as a single engine landing, an emergency was declared and we returned to cvg where crash fire rescue equipment was waiting upon landing. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the cause of the low oil pressure was a leaking oil seal. The reporter said maintenance has released no details on type of seal and location on the engine.

Narrative: LEVELING AT 13000 FT, WE RECEIVED LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING INDICATIONS FOR THE L ENG. AT THE SAME TIME, ATC TRIED TO CLB US TO 17000 FT. MISSED CALL DISCUSSING SIT AND RUNNING CHKLIST. SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THE WARNING ENG WAS BROUGHT TO IDLE, ATC TOLD TO STAND BY DUE TO PROB ON BOARD. AFTER NOTING ALL ENG INDICATIONS WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS AT IDLE, MAINT WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE SIT. A RETURN WAS ADVISED AND WE RELAYED SIT TO ATC. WE TOLD THEM THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE LNDG WITH AN ENG AT IDLE. THE SIT WAS TREATED AS A SINGLE ENG LNDG, AN EMER WAS DECLARED AND WE RETURNED TO CVG WHERE CFR WAS WAITING UPON LNDG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE CAUSE OF THE LOW OIL PRESSURE WAS A LEAKING OIL SEAL. THE RPTR SAID MAINT HAS RELEASED NO DETAILS ON TYPE OF SEAL AND LOCATION ON THE ENG.
