Narrative:

Captain called and told me he had seen that the autobrakes were deactivated in the aircraft logbook, but he could find no other reference to having no autobrakes. This was done on jan/wed/02. I called A300 technical support and was told that engineering was deactivating the autobrakes on some A300 aircraft using a maintenance procedure manual. There was no reference to this anywhere on the flight plan. I spoke with technical support and he was able to enter it as a long term deferred item for this flight. If engineering is going to deactivate anything that has an MEL reference we need to know about this in some way.
