Narrative:

After takeoff, main gear would not retract. Advised ATC that we wanted to return to ZZZ. We got vectored for the ILS at ZZZ. Landed, taxied to ramp. Maintenance found both main gear pins installed. So did a walkaround prior to flight and said they were not installed during the preflight walkaround. Logbook showed they had removed pins prior to our flight. A mechanic said he had installed them because the ramp was slippery and he had not re-entered it in the logbook.
