Narrative:
I was taxiing down the yellow line toward the runway. There was a gas truck parked on the side of the taxiway. I had seen it earlier and made a mental note to allow for it. I looked away to check my instruments. When I looked back up, I realized I had not allowed quite enough room for my wings to clear the truck. I applied my brakes, but it was too late -- I had clipped the truck and cracked the wingtip.

Title: A C172 PLT, TAXIING FOR TKOF AT DYR, MADE CONTACT WITH A GAS TRUCK, DAMAGING A WINGTIP.
Narrative: I WAS TAXIING DOWN THE YELLOW LINE TOWARD THE RWY. THERE WAS A GAS TRUCK PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE TXWY. I HAD SEEN IT EARLIER AND MADE A MENTAL NOTE TO ALLOW FOR IT. I LOOKED AWAY TO CHK MY INSTS. WHEN I LOOKED BACK UP, I REALIZED I HAD NOT ALLOWED QUITE ENOUGH ROOM FOR MY WINGS TO CLR THE TRUCK. I APPLIED MY BRAKES, BUT IT WAS TOO LATE -- I HAD CLIPPED THE TRUCK AND CRACKED THE WINGTIP.
