Narrative:

During taxi at pit to runway 28C, we inadvertently crossed the runway hold short lines. We saw the hold short lines and mistook them for the approach area hold short lines. There also was a sign that said 'runway 28C approach' right next to the lines. After crossing the first hold short lines we realized that there weren't any other hold short lines. We were then cleared into position and hold on runway 28C. There was no conflict and we did not actually enter the runway without a clearance. We were still on the taxiway, but just past the lines.
