Narrative:

On visual approach to dfw runway 36L about XA20Z. We initiated a go around due to traffic on the runway. B747 crossing at midfield. We soon received TA and RA to climb. During the RA, tower advised of traffic and issued missed approach instructions as we climbed through 2800 ft. We never made visual contact with the traffic as I believe it was below our nose. The red diamond indicated as close as 500 ft below and nearly merged. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said he was not comfortable with traffic rolling out on the runway and a B747 crossing midfield, so a missed approach initiated. He said TCASII was from an aircraft that had departed off the parallel runway. He was never able to visually see the aircraft.
