Narrative:

First officer and I were trying to expedite our departure to maintain schedule. After engine starts, we both missed the before taxi checklist. During taxi, company advised us we had a door (cargo) open. We returned to ramp to have it shut. Lesson re-learned: take your time and use the checklist!
