Narrative:

While taxiing to runway 36 'north', pilot was distraction by passenger and passed IFR holding stripes. Pilot stopped short of runway. No other aircraft was involved or inconvenienced. Tower advised pilot of having passed very clearly marked stripes. Pilot acknowledged mistake and admitted being unfamiliar with runway/taxiway layout.
