Narrative:

After landing on runway 36, I was instructed by tower to make a right turn on next taxiway (taxiway M3) and taxi to the ramp, hold short runway 6. Being reasonably familiar with the airport and knowing that there were recent changes with increasing the ramp area, my attention was not where it should have been. I was concentrating on the distant taxiway and ramp lighting and my desire to finish this flight and return to my home base. As a result of my lack of attention, I proceeded to cross runway 6 without clearance and with an aircraft on final for runway 6. Was immediately advised and just admonished for my error. Was then cleared to taxi to the ramp. In retrospect, I should have canceled and rescheduled the evaluation flight. Was tired due to holidays and personal workload. After arriving on time for the evaluation, it was delayed by the evaluator for over 1 hour as he had an errand to run. Recommend flight time for this evaluation is 1 hour minimum. This was done in less than 20 mins with no prior preparation. As the saying goes, haste makes waste, fortunately, none in this instance.

Title: AN SMA PLT, AFTER LNDG AT GRB, TAXIED ACROSS A RWY HE WAS TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF.

Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 36, I WAS INSTRUCTED BY TWR TO MAKE A R TURN ON NEXT TXWY (TXWY M3) AND TAXI TO THE RAMP, HOLD SHORT RWY 6. BEING REASONABLY FAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT AND KNOWING THAT THERE WERE RECENT CHANGES WITH INCREASING THE RAMP AREA, MY ATTN WAS NOT WHERE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I WAS CONCENTRATING ON THE DISTANT TXWY AND RAMP LIGHTING AND MY DESIRE TO FINISH THIS FLT AND RETURN TO MY HOME BASE. AS A RESULT OF MY LACK OF ATTN, I PROCEEDED TO CROSS RWY 6 WITHOUT CLRNC AND WITH AN ACFT ON FINAL FOR RWY 6. WAS IMMEDIATELY ADVISED AND JUST ADMONISHED FOR MY ERROR. WAS THEN CLRED TO TAXI TO THE RAMP. IN RETROSPECT, I SHOULD HAVE CANCELED AND RESCHEDULED THE EVALUATION FLT. WAS TIRED DUE TO HOLIDAYS AND PERSONAL WORKLOAD. AFTER ARRIVING ON TIME FOR THE EVALUATION, IT WAS DELAYED BY THE EVALUATOR FOR OVER 1 HR AS HE HAD AN ERRAND TO RUN. RECOMMEND FLT TIME FOR THIS EVALUATION IS 1 HR MINIMUM. THIS WAS DONE IN LESS THAN 20 MINS WITH NO PRIOR PREPARATION. AS THE SAYING GOES, HASTE MAKES WASTE, FORTUNATELY, NONE IN THIS INSTANCE.
