Narrative:

Crossed the cimex fix (dtw runway 22R FAF) at an altitude of 2700 ft vice a charted altitude of 2281 ft, a difference of 419 ft. We double confirmed altimeter setting and verified with tower that the next two succeeding aircraft also crossed this fix at 2700 ft. This altitude difference is too much to accept, particularly given the other aircraft confirmed our suspicion. We checked the NOTAMS without finding a remark pertaining to runway 22R. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that on the day in question he made 2 approachs to the same runway with 2 different aircraft with the same result, 2700 ft over the FAF, (cimex) 419 ft higher than charted. Subsequent approachs to that runway have revealed normal altitude readouts throughout the approach including 2281 ft at 'cimex.'

Title: A DC9 CREW, XING THE FAF TO RWY 22R AT DTW, ON GS, WERE APPROX 400 FT HIGHER THAN THE CHARTED ALT.

Narrative: CROSSED THE CIMEX FIX (DTW RWY 22R FAF) AT AN ALT OF 2700 FT VICE A CHARTED ALT OF 2281 FT, A DIFFERENCE OF 419 FT. WE DOUBLE CONFIRMED ALTIMETER SETTING AND VERIFIED WITH TWR THAT THE NEXT TWO SUCCEEDING ACFT ALSO CROSSED THIS FIX AT 2700 FT. THIS ALT DIFFERENCE IS TOO MUCH TO ACCEPT, PARTICULARLY GIVEN THE OTHER ACFT CONFIRMED OUR SUSPICION. WE CHKED THE NOTAMS WITHOUT FINDING A REMARK PERTAINING TO RWY 22R. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT ON THE DAY IN QUESTION HE MADE 2 APCHS TO THE SAME RWY WITH 2 DIFFERENT ACFT WITH THE SAME RESULT, 2700 FT OVER THE FAF, (CIMEX) 419 FT HIGHER THAN CHARTED. SUBSEQUENT APCHS TO THAT RWY HAVE REVEALED NORMAL ALT READOUTS THROUGHOUT THE APCH INCLUDING 2281 FT AT 'CIMEX.'
