Narrative:

We left the gate on schedule due the excellent work of my first officer. He had the entire aircraft preflted inside and out and all we had remaining was to review the logbook and do the checklist. We departed on schedule miraculously due to my first officer's fine work. I did neglect to enter in the logbook that the first flight of the day security check was completed. It was in fact completed and I just didn't enter it in the logbook. I am sorry to say that this delayed the outbound flight (from san) as they could not ascertain that the second check was completed. I think the distraction of the disjointed new operations setup in bos contributed to the error.
